Guided tours of the villa Romaine
Saturday 16th & Sunday 17th September, 11am and 3pm

On the occasion of journées du patrimoine, the villa Romaine is opening its doors to the public and inviting you to discover its astonishing world. Located in the heart of Hyères’ historic Chateaubriand district, this “secret” and inspiring garden will be the focus of a 45-minute guided tour:
Presentation of the historical, urban and landscape context of the site.
Wander around the site, taking in the unique elements that make up and enliven the space.

Please note that the road leading to the villa Romaine is closed, so follow the signposted route from the town hall.

At the Ancien Évêché :

For the journées du patrimoine weekend, the villa Noailles is organizing three themed tours at the Ancien Évêché:

  • guided tours of the history of this atypical site at 5pm
  • guided tours of the Design Parade Toulon exhibitions at 11am and 3pm.

For the first time, the Centre national des arts plastiques (Cnap), the Mobilier national and the Musée des Arts décoratifs join the Centre Pompidou in an exceptional partnership to present the national design collections in Toulon. Based on a selection of works from the collections of the four institutions, organized by the villa Noailles in collaboration with the Métropole Toulon Provence Méditerranée , the exhibition “Seconde nature. Pour un design durable” (Second nature. For sustainable design), organized by the villa Noailles in collaboration with the Métropole Toulon Provence Méditerranée, the exhibition brings together some 50 designers in 150 works for the Toulon Design Parade Festival.

Unpublished score by Nicolas Nabokov, a piece created
and performed by the Noailles family in Hyères in 1932, in front of the Villa Noailles.
In partnership with the Festival “Les Nuits du Château de la Moutte”.

Based on an original idea by Jean-Pierre Blanc, with the generous support of Madame Foriel Destezet and CHANEL, major sponsor of the Centenary.

Featuring the unpublished score of Nicolas Nabokov’s Le Collectionneur d’Échos, and composers who were friends of the Noailles family, including Francis Poulenc, Henri Sauguet, George Auric, Kurt Weill and Ned Rorem.
