CHAMBRE TAPISSÉE POUR CIGALE EN HIVER
In heraldic art there is no coat of arms to represent the Mediterranean. Drawing inspiration from this medieval tradition, I have decided to propose different versions to bring together under one emblem the heterogeneous coastline that stretches from Nice to Perpignan.
Influenced by the resources of this vast territory, I have chosen its symbolic colours. To this I added a major figure: the cicada, whose song unites Provence and Occitanie. But the cicada is more than just a musician. Did you know that it spends most of its life as a larva, warm in its underground burrow?
It is in tribute to it that I have chosen to deploy the forms and colours of my coat of arms to an architectural scale using local and noble materials.
Just like its underground cocoon and the medieval rooms filled with tapestries, I design a room that is entirely flexible, made of drapes and hangings. A comfortable setting to overwinter.
