The starting point of this project was to find a sustainable alternative to traditional concrete and to popularise its use through a household object.
The most harmful component of this material being cement, it is replaced by blast furnace slag, a by-product from the steel industry that is rarely reused. Gravel is substituted by debris collected from construction sites.
The Erreur 404 lamps are unique pieces, each handmade in recycled plastic moulds. The raw materials are reclaimed waste.
The scale of production and the scale of the object allow to better understand the concept and to appropriate the product. The lamps are produced on demand, to avoid stockpiling and wastage.
