Primare & Olero
Since 2020, opening doors with the arm has become a habit that has become entrenched in our habits as an alternative to touching the handles with bare hands. Unlike the manual door handle, whose design is already well established, handles that can be used with the arm are still rudimentary. So I imagined what these new objects could look like to make them easily accessible.
I thought about ergonomics and gestures, as well as the aesthetics of these objects, which have the dual challenge of blending into the background while clearly suggesting how they work. This research has resulted in two handles, Primare and Olero, which offer two new ways of opening doors with the arm or the hand. Suitable for standard doors, they suit equally at home or in public areas such as hospitals and businesses.
