PAUL BONLARRON
Winner of the Mobilier National Prize - Design Parade Toulon 2022
Guest Artist of the Year 2025 at Villa Noailles

Chantilly Mirrors
Paul’s workshop invites participants to explore rocaille techniques using piping bags to create decorative plaster and shell mirrors. After a brief introduction to the art of rocaille – decorative compositions with shells and textured masonry – and its historical roots in the Hyères region, participants will learn various methods to shape coloured plaster using piping bags.

While the elements dry, the mirrors will be adorned with shells embedded in the plaster decor. Participants are welcome to bring their own shell collection, gathered over the years, to personalise their creations further.

Born in 1994, Paul Bonlarron lives and works in the Paris region. He graduated in 2015 from the Textile Design, Materials & Environment programme at Duperré School, and in 2021, completed a Master’s in Industrial Creation at ENSCI – Les Ateliers. Paul won the Mobilier National Prize at Design Parade Toulon 2022 with his Shell Toilet project, a tribute to rocaille.

In 2024, Paul designed the scenography for the Remix, the Aliénés of Mobilier National exhibition at the Hôtel des Arts in Toulon. His creative approach builds on a strong connection between his design practice and a love for ornamentation, saturation, and vibrant expressions of form and colour.
