La villa Noailles has joined the “Parcours des arts”!

At the invitation of the town of Hyères, the arts centre has taken up residence in a former bar and is participating in the cultural dynamic at the heart of the town. Boasting almost forty galleries, artists’ workshops, and shops which punctuate the pedestrian streets of the old town, the Parcours des Arts is
a signposted route which links the key locations of the town’s historic and architectural heritage (collégiale Saint-Paul, théâtre Denis, église Saint-Louis, Tour des Templiers, Castel Sainte-Claire, villa Noailles…).

“L’annexe” allows us to be closer to the town’s inhabitants and its tourists, through exhibitions, creative workshops, and a specific focus on mediation.
The layout and the furnishings for this new space have been devised by two talent from Hyères. Antoine Grulier and Thomas Defour have created a joint enterprise called Superpoly. Their scenographies and interior designs were recognised and awarded a special citation by the jury at the first Design Parade Toulon festival in 2016. They have since developed their practice and have created a number of rooms at the Hôtel La Reine Jane on the port of Ayguade in Hyères.

In homage to Charles and Marie-Laure de Noailles, they have created a large floral fresco on a printed curtain which allows for L’Annexe’s space to be modular. They have also created a modular system of coloured tables whose undulations echo the curves of the vases and enamelled terracotta pots made in Hyères by Le Photophore.
