15 years, selection of winning designers of the Design Parade Hyères competitions

In 2006, following the same model as the festival of fashion and photography, the villa Noailles launched a new competition in order to discover and promote young international designers.

Supported by Andrée Putman and presided over by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, the first edition established the foundations for a rendezvous for encounters and exchanges at the service of a new generation of designers, which has lasted for the past fifteen years. Benefiting from the first days of summer, the exceptional setting of the villa Noailles provides an environment that is atypical and propitious for this event, which is just as popular with the general public as it is with professionals from the world of design.

Over 15 years, more than 150 young designers have come to Hyères in order to meet the industry’s greats. Thanks to residencies offered by the festival’s partners and with the support of the villa Noailles, each winner of the Grand Prix has been able to present a solo exhibition that is the result of a year of creation, accompanied by the Manufacture de Sèvres, the CIRVA in Marseilles, Galerie kreo, Groupe SEB and many other opportunities over the years.

These young winners have furthered their careers and today design for some of the most important firms. They have even sometimes invented new production methods and distributions, and today they represent the face of international contemporary design.

In this peculiar year, prior to resuming our normal calendar in 2021, we would like to unite a selection of either recent or emblematic pieces in the Salles voûtées at the villa Noailles, there where the adventure of the competition started.

Kim Haddou and Florent Dufourcq staged the furniture and objects created by:
