Marie Laure De Noailles, Poetry
After the autobiographical novel La Chambre des écureuils and the essays Journal d’un peintre and Lettres provençales compiled in a single volume, Seghers and 7L continue their collaboration with the Villa Noailles to bring to light the literary works of Marie Laure de Noailles, one of the most important patrons of the 20th century and an iconic figure in the arts and letters. Praised by the press and well-received in bookstores, these new editions have helped bring the writings of the woman known as “the Viscountess of the Bizarre” from obscurity to recognition.
This book, dedicated to her poetry, will complete the collection by bringing together three volumes originally published in the 1940s and 1950s: L’An quarante, La viole d’amour, and Cires perdues.
