Le temps des marécages

@MALOCOMOTRICE

Here, insects and amphibians have settled, sheltered from sight. The room is laden with objects, relics of a quiet deluge, like a last breath drawn without effort. The invented space is meant to be soothing: a library whose collector-entomologist is gone, yet persists through the objects cluttering its walls and shelves. Relics of the living, drawn from the collections of the Mobilier National and the invited artists.

The project is structured around an armchair and a shelving unit designed and produced in partnership with the Mobilier National. These objects present a
bitter-sweet blend of Bauhasian forms and materials of the future. The armchair, in laminated bright red wood, follows in the lineage of the supple seating of
modernism. The shelving unit, meanwhile, is grounded in an aesthetic of primary colours and interplaying orthogonal forms.

Thus, Le Temps des marécages, a title inspired by the sublime album by Double Peine, is constructed as a gentle deluge of details to be observed within a universe shaped by many generous hands.
