@MARIEGASTINI
Marie Gastini develops a practice at the intersection of art and design, informed by the reinterpretation of domestic objects and textile craft traditions. Through her installations, she explores the presence of the living within spaces and inert forms, drawing on an intimate and sensory imaginary rooted in the domestic sphere.
At festival Design Parade - interior design 2025, organised by villa Noailles, she receives the Villa Swagatam × Galerie Æquō grant, enabling her to undertake a production residency in Mumbai.
This immersion gives rise to a dialogue between her artistic practice and Indian artisanal heritage. In collaboration with local craftspeople, notably the embroidery workshop Amal Embroideries, she spends five weeks exploring different craft traditions and the new perspectives they open onto intercultural collaboration and contemporary design. The collection ‘The Bond’ brings together sculptural light fittings, ennobled modular seating and a series of embroidered pieces, including a large-scale wall work. This collection was presented for the first time at the India Art Fair in February 2026 with Galerie Æquō.
