Retrospective of the Visual Merchandising Prize awarded by CHANEL

Since 2016, and in keeping with its enduring commitment to creation, CHANEL has been a partner of Design Parade. Established in 2019, the Visual Merchandising Prize is awarded each year to one of the ten finalists of the interior design competition, for the realisation of a window-display project. Drawing on a theme set by CHANEL, the finalists play with light, materials and colour to compose a contemporary scenography. A threshold between the street and the interior of the boutique, a narrow space where visibility becomes spectacle, the window turns into a small theatre in which fashion reaches out to design and interior architecture.

Six editions have followed one another and, for the first time, they are brought
together here under the roof of the villa Noailles. These artists were awarded
a grant of €20,000 to carry out a collaborative project with one or more of the
Maisons d’art resident at le19M. This exhibition lets us travel through the seasons of a single story and gauge the vitality of a dialogue in which the expertise of the ateliers extends the daring of young creators.
