Les influorescences domestiques

Domestic influorescences are timeless plants. They emancipate themselves from capitalism and germinate in its ruins, where the industrial pistils of second nature bloom beneath glass and porcelain. They are the living fossils of a saturated, standardised, flavourless system. Here is their forest, where the imaginaries of a convivial future unfurl.

The Bulbs series explores the metamorphosis of the living in the age of the Capitalocene*. The emergence of hybrid lamps, conceived as living organisms, calls into question the industrial proliferation embedded in our ways of life.
Through a reappropriation of ornament, they invoke both the artisanal heritage of our species and that of productivist standardisation: craft knowledge, nature and technology are here envisaged in balance and harmony, at the edge of future forests.

This project, carried out during a dual residency at CIRVA and the Manufacture de Sèvres, continues a broader research into the anticipation and materialisation of post-capitalist imaginaries:
wild systems.
