Winners of the CHANEL 2021 Visual Merchandising Award
Marc-Antoine Biehler, graduated from the école Camondo, and Amaury Graveleine, graduated from the École Boulle and from the Paris-Malaquais School of Architecture, both Interior Architects, were discovered during the 2021 edition of the Design Parade Toulon. They are winners of the Public Prize for their Mirage project and
winners of the Visual Merchandising Prize commissioned by CHANEL for their window display. Within the former Bishop’s Palace of Toulon, this duo of young artists benefits from a collaboration with Lesage Intérieurs. Inspired by the esoterism of cartomancy and the universe of the Tarot de Marseille deck, they are carrying out a showcase project exploring the techniques of furniture embroidery. Upstairs, their clairvoyant’s room represents on lacquered screens and embroidered cushions the symbols of this universe : golden shines, signs of the zodiac in silver dots, representations of animals or coloured Tarot de Marseille cards as “ex voto”. As many staged magical objects conversing with Lesage Intérieurs’s techniques. Lesage Intérieurs invents, designs and produces handmade embroideries for furnishings and decoration, in its SA 8000-certified factory located in Chennai, in India. These embroideries, historical, classic or contemporary, celebrate Lesage Intérieurs dedication to creativity and to the exceptional savoir-faire of the embroiderers.
