École Camondo Méditerranée

FIAT LUX

Minimal resources, multiple forms
This year, the first-year students, supervised by interior architect and designers Valérie Douangphrachandr and Artus Monat, are proposing a landscape of large luminous structures. The structures are made from Drop Paper supplied by the exhibition’s partner, Procédés Chénel, and an everyday object that is so familiar that it is invisible: the trestle.
Emblematic of the school’s spaces, it embodies the modularity, adaptability and creativity characteristic of Camondo. Reconfigured and placed in tension, it becomes a structure, a landscape, a language. This installation is a way of revealing through misappropriation, of creating without overproducing, of transforming the useful into the poetic, and of teaching in a different way.

SUMMER ROOM

To coincide with the Design Parade, the Rooom Service gallery is escaping Paris and taking over the Place des Savonnières for a group exhibition exploring the new avant-garde in design. Conceived as a summer interlude, the exhibition highlights young designers and crafts people spotted at various events this year. Each piece on show takes a different approach to materials, with unique works or limited editions.
In collaboration with the École Camondo Méditerranée, Summer Rooom brings together student projects presented during graduation week, as well as works by young designers represented at the Design Parade, at the Mobilier national and in the AD100 ranking.
This crossover of paths highlights the many ways in which people can invent their own practice and become part of the creative field. Summer Rooom is not just an exhibition space, it’s also a place for people to pass through, converse and pass on their ideas, like a summer academy where people come to explore, meet, test and develop new approaches.
