Rules and Regulations
OBJECT DESIGN COMPETITION RULES TO PARTICIPATE
PLEASE CAREFULLY FOLLOW THE 2 STEPS DESCRIBED BELOW:
- The competition is open to all object designers over the age of 18.
- Collective applications (maximum of 2 people) are accepted.
- The competition does not concern the field of fashion styling or graphic design.
- The project(s) proposed for the competition must not have been presented in a cultural institution in France or at a European trade fair.
- Eco-designed projects, without the use of non-recyclable materials, are favored.
- Objects for daily life and for the home are favored.
- There is no defined theme or type of project.
- We encourage you to create original projects.
- Projects that have already been presented, such as end-of-year projects, will not be favored.
Steps
The competition consists of 2 steps.
Step 1
Complete the form and send the full PDF file to designcompetition@villanoailles.com online no later than 31 January 2025, see details below:
PDF of maximum 15 pages (maximum 8 MB):
- 3 pages illustrating your previous work, as a portfolio (these works will not be presented for the competition). Specify “Portfolio” on these 3 pages.
- 3 pages per project, illustrating the project(s) (maximum 3 projects) competing for the Grand Prize, including intention text, drawings and technical plans, images of the prototype. Specify “Grand Prix Design Parade 19” on these pages. If the prototype does not yet exist, mention it.
A letter of motivation and a CV regarding your education and activities in design only. - Name the PDF file as follows: lastname_firstname.pdf (e.g.: smith_john.pdf)
A first professional selection will take place in early February 2025.
All participants will be informed of their selection or non-selection for step 2.
Step 2
Send your paper dossier before February 10, 2025
Only if you have received an email confirming that your application has been preselected.
Your dossier MUST include:
- The dossier corresponding to the PDF saved in the first step, printed in A3 format and if possible original drawings, all bearing your name and surname.
- A letter of motivation and a CV regarding your education and activities in design only.
