- In 2024, the competition was rewarded by the Grand Prix Design Parade Toulon Van Cleef & Arpels. The 10 candidates also compete for the Visual Merchandising Prize awarded by CHANEL and the National Furniture Prize.
- Collective applications (maximum of 2 people) are accepted but not favored.
- The proposed project(s) for the competition must not have been presented in any cultural institution in France or at any European trade fair.
- We encourage you to create original projects.
- Projects that have already been presented, such as school projects, will not be favored.
COMPETITION THEME
The competition consists of a style exercise: the design, primarily, of a living room in a villa on the Mediterranean coast.
ASSISTANCE AND PARTNERSHIPS
The project must be feasible with a budget of 1,500 euros including tax. Candidates can use a selection of materials, furniture, and objects made available by the Festival’s partners. A connection will be made after the selections. Candidates can find additional partners for their projects and benefit from the assistance of their governments (embassies, foundations, etc.) and ideas for their decor (allied companies, antique dealers, etc.). The counterparts must be validated in advance by Villa Noailles. If your project is selected, the Villa Noailles also provides a selection of objects and works created by former laureates and friends of its Festivals: photographs, furniture, objects (E. & R. Bouroullec, Normal Studio, B. Pot, J.B. Fastrez, C. Guisset…). The Festival covers the transportation of furniture and objects from Paris. The Festival covers accommodation in Toulon, transportation (from the accommodation to the exhibition venue), and meals for the selected candidates during the installation and Festival only.
