Step 2 - Selection

Printed portfolio submission no later than 5 January 2026

The printed portfolio will be reviewed by the jury.

Only after receiving the pre-selection email may you send the printed application file containing:

Biographical information (print the PDF generated during Stage 1)
A general presentation of your photographic practice (previous work), including images and text: maximum 10 pages / A3 format maximum
20 photographic prints of the series submitted for the competition (loose prints or in a portfolio) / maximum size 30 × 40 cm
A descriptive note in English about the series submitted for the competition / maximum 1 A4 page

Results will be announced live on social media @villanoailles at the end of January 2026 and then on the website villanoailles.com. The organisers will communicate the official announcement date of the results in early January 2026.
The 10 candidates selected for Stage 3 will be contacted by the organisers no later than 30 January 2026.

Shipping and return conditions

The organisers will not cover any costs.
Parcels requiring customs fees or additional postage will be refused.
The organisers are not responsible for damage or loss during round-trip transport.
Any incomplete portfolio, or portfolio lacking the necessary postage for return, will neither be accepted nor returned.
Only the shipping methods described in the rules will be accepted.

Return of the printed portfolio
Non-selected portfolios will be returned in March 2026.

You may either:
Provide a prepaid envelope in the size of the portfolio, with the return address included:

Stamp (only for a French address)
Carrier waybill and account number (Colissimo / Chronopost / UPS / DHL / FEDEX or any other carrier ensuring return to the country of origin)

Provide an envelope with the return address and pay 20 euros:

Include a cheque for 20 euros made out to Association Villa Noailles
Or make a bank transfer of 20 euros to Association Villa Noailles

As these prints are for competition use only and have no commercial value, it is recommended to indicate “documents, no commercial value” to avoid customs delays or fees.

Destruction of the printed portfolio
If you do not wish the printed portfolio to be returned, include a signed and dated letter stating:
“I authorise the organisers to destroy my portfolio.”
