Piano Sano Lontano
On board the Piano Sano Lontano train, time seems to stand still, a perfect place to relax and daydream. The passenger compartment is reminiscent of a ship’s odyssey, with the imposing curtain acting as a giant sail, revealing a range of different settings.
The codes of theatre and navigation feed the imaginary world of the train in harmony. The curtains are lifted to reveal Mediterranean panoramas: enchanting scents, shimmering lights and vibrant colours. Between dream and reality, Piano Sano Lontano becomes a place where boundaries become blurred.
For us, this project evokes a joyous reminiscence of our sleeper train journeys to the Mediterranean. All along the way, a feeling of enveloping relaxation settles in, transforming the train into the home of a lifetime. Between the restaurant car that became our dining room, and the couchette reminiscent of a child’s dream cabin, we take our bearings. This cramped space became the stage for our stories, drawn clumsily on the compartment shelf or groped in the dim neon light as we read. These cherished moments punctuate our progress towards the long-dreamed-of adventures of holidays in Venice, on the shores of the Bassin de Thau and in the hinterland of Provence, underlining our intimate link with the Mediterranean.
