FASHION WORKSHOP with LUCILLE THIEVRE

FASHION WORKSHOP with LUCILLE THIEVRE
Finalist in the fashion competition at the International Festival of Fashion, Photography, and Accessories – Hyères, 2019

The goal of the workshop is to cover all the steps involved in creating a complete personal silhouette with accessories in an instinctive and straightforward way.
Here is the program for each session leading to the creation of your silhouette:

Session 1 : Introduction to my work and background, followed by a presentation of the workshop and its various stages. We will conclude with a visit to the fashion exhibitions at the International Festival of Fashion, Photography, and Accessories – Hyères.

Session 2 : Exploration of plant life as the initial inspiration and iconographic research using books from Villa Noailles and personal collections. Participants will choose an inspiration image and explain their choice. This image will guide the color, shape, texture, and spirit of the silhouette to be created. It will also serve as the name of the outfit.

Sessions 3-4 : Shape exploration using a muslin: Participants will form pairs and alternately work on shaping the silhouette on their partner’s body for 30 minutes each. Mark temporary reference points before laying the fabric flat.

Session 5 : Work on prints, tie-dye, and dyeing techniques with a specialized guest.

Sessions 6 and 7 : Assembly of the outfits and accessories using a sewing machine or with eyelets and ribbons for the younger participants.

Session 8 : Presentation of the creations – fashion show.

After starting her career as a women’s fashion designer at Hermès and Givenchy, Lucille laid the foundation for her eponymous brand, LUCILLE THIEVRE, in 2019. Following her selection at the Hyères festival, she has been developing her ready-to-wear and accessory collections. Her brand was born in Paris, inspired by the musical vibes, the art foundry’s smoke, and the wood dust that make up the environment of the Ateliers du Wonder in Paris—a workspace for artists and creators. The encounter between this artistic space and the designer gave birth to LUCILLE THIEVRE, a ready-to-wear brand offering pieces crafted with care, time, and respect.

PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP with CHRISTOPHER BARRAJA

PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP with CHRISTOPHER BARRAJA
Finalist in the photography competition at the International Festival of Fashion, Photography, and Accessories – Hyères, 2022

The workshops aim to develop each participant’s creativity and vision through the medium of photography. Throughout the year, we will explore various themes and techniques, such as portraiture, still life, filters, or black and white photography, pushing the boundaries of the medium to create unique worlds for each child. Between sessions, the budding photographers will be encouraged to take photos during their free time and experiment with the new techniques learned at the villa to keep their skills sharp. With this regular practice, they will be able to develop and realize their creativity and imagination in an exhibition that we will prepare together.

Born in Nice, photographer Christopher Barraja first explored architecture in Marseille. After suffering a stroke at the age of 19, he discovered his passion for photography. He graduated from the École des Arts Décoratifs in Paris in 2020 with his project “De Chlore et de Rosé.” In 2022, he was a finalist at the Hyères festival and won the Grand Prix Picto de la Photographie de Mode for the same series. Deeply connected to his Mediterranean roots, he frequently returns to Nice to capture the hidden side of his hometown, creating photographs that blend beauty with the strange—a fusion he holds dear.

ARCHITECTURE WORKSHOP with ELSA PY

ARCHITECTURE WORKSHOP with ELSA PY
Guest architect for the exhibition Fragments of Architecture, Villa Noailles 1923-2023

Ages 8-12
As part of the annual workshops offered in Hyères, PAVILLONS ÉLÉMENTAIRES will explore the fantastical representation of architecture using basic shapes and colors. This workshop, designed for children, will take the form of an experiment in creating a collective mural depicting a fantastical world, with colorful pavilions placed on three-dimensional bases. This world will be composed of collages incorporating various elements: pavilions, pathways, vegetation, and characters, to represent a scene from an imaginary city created for the occasion. Each participant will be tasked with creating their own colorful pavilion(s) and the context in which it will be placed.

Ages 13-16
As part of the annual workshops offered in Hyères, PASSiON PATiO will delve into the vernacular architecture of cities built from earth and stone, with a particular focus on courtyard buildings. This workshop, designed for teenagers, will take the form of an experiment in creating a collective model representing a fragment of a city. This city will be made up of individual models, each representing a courtyard building. Each participant will be tasked with creating a square building with four façades and an open-air courtyard. The spatial organization and aesthetics of the courtyard building will be left to each participant’s interpretation, allowing everyone to design their own little “paradise.”

Born in 1992 in Aix-en-Provence, Elsa Py studied architecture at the École Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de Marseille. During a Master’s exchange program, she discovered Uruguay and spent two semesters in Montevideo. Limited by language barriers and influenced by the FARQ’s academic approach, she focused on communicating her projects through drawings, models, and sketches. She approaches her studies through plastic and experimental research, deepening the communication of the project through multiple graphic representations. These tools remain central to her current practice, and the fundamentals initiated during her studies provide her with a unique culture and vision. After graduating in 2016, Elsa began collaborating with agencies in Marseille and then Paris. She earned her project management qualification and founded her agency in 2021. Renovations, extensions, and interior design for villas and apartments are her favorite subjects. Highly sensitive to human factors, attentive, and supportive, Elsa enjoys working on everyday architectural projects to solve domestic situations while adding an aesthetic and functional touch.

DESIGN WORKSHOP with LUCA RIZZO

DESIGN WORKSHOP with LUCA RIZZO
Recipient of the Villa Noailles Special Mention at the Design Parade Hyères 2024

In this workshop, I propose creating a small collection of vases. My goal is to introduce various artisanal techniques and encourage participants to explore their creativity. Each piece will be unique, with diverse shapes and colors, allowing everyone to develop their visual identity. We will go through several stages of creation: starting with examining different shapes and designs, followed by exploring volumes. Then, we will move on to construction and molding, using various materials provided. The workshop will conclude with a collective exhibition before everyone takes home their creation.

Luca Rizzo is a visual artist, designer, and performer born in the Trevi Fountain. His work sits at the intersection of art, craft, and design. Initially trained in textile work, he also specialized in ceramics and is currently focused on the synergy between these two materials. He graduated in Fashion Design from the Haute École d’Art et de Design in Geneva in 2018, expanding his exploration through performance and ceramics. In the fall of 2023, he held his first solo ceramic exhibition. He was then a finalist at the Design Parade Hyères 2024, where he received the Villa Noailles Special Prize. His work will also be exhibited at the International Design Biennial in Ljubljana the same year.
