LE PALAIS DE SABLE
The Sand Palace is a landscape, a seaside postcard, where the memories of an afternoon at the beach blend into the fragile architecture of a fantasised setting.
There, one indulges in daydreaming and laziness, listening, looking at the cheerful and changing colours that transform throughout the day. Seashellshaped cushions are housed in rocky architectures inlaid with mosaic fragments. On small glass pedestal tables, pearls gather in piles like seaweed rescued from the tide. A small stained-glass lounge illuminates
the room with a thousand colours. The decor as a whole is precious, some details such as the irregular surface of the mortar look eroded by time and waves.
The fireplace topped by a mirror, the large curtains and the hall of mirrors covering the wall evoke the oldfashioned style of a palace room.
The two worlds, the beach and the palace, are one, like an imaginary palace carved in sand.
