At the heart of my research is the study of sociological and pop cultural phenomena. These phenomena play a crucial role in shaping public opinion and often give rise to tensions that can further polarise society. I primarily deal with the concepts of iconicity, commerciality and trends. Paradoxically, my view is not straightforwardly critical as I position myself as an observer and commentator.
The subject of my vases, which are modelling balloons, is primarily associated with the environment of illusions, tricks and flashing lights. They are created by preserving this unstable material in static form, transforming the ephemeral moment of mirage into an impermanent form, imaginatively creating a never-ending climactic moment. Their shiny surface, indistinguishable from that of precious metals, also has the ability to mirror, thus fulfilling our narcissistic interests.
