FASHION WORKSHOP with LUCILLE THIEVRE

Ages 13-16, 9:30 AM - 12:30 PM
Finalist of the fashion contest at the International Festival of Fashion, Photography, and Accessories – Hyères, 2019

Participants will learn Lucille’s modus operandi for creating a silhouette directly on the body in an intuitive and simple way, using fastening and tying techniques. They will have the opportunity to personalize their fabric by experimenting with printmaking. Over the course of these four mornings, they will grasp the basics of draping in a very organic way and develop a personal silhouette, including clothing and accessories.

After beginning her career as a women’s stylist at Hermès and Givenchy, Lucille founded her eponymous brand LUCILLE THIEVRE in 2019. Following her selection at the Hyères festival, she has been developing her ready-to-wear and accessories collections. Her brand was born in Paris, amidst the musical waves, the fumes of the art foundry, and the wood dust that form the environment of the Wonder Workshops in Paris; a workspace for artists and creators. The meeting between this artistic place and the designer gave birth to LUCILLE THIEVRE, a ready-to-wear brand offering pieces crafted with care, time, and respect.

PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP with CHRISTOPHER BARRAJA

Ages 8-12, 9:30 AM - 12:30 PM
Finalist of the photography contest at the International Festival of Fashion, Photography, and Accessories – Hyères, 2022

In this workshop, I propose a playful and participatory approach to photography. As a photographer, my goal is to encourage participants to explore their creativity and develop their observational skills. I will start by presenting different photographic genres, focusing on my personal practice; then we will seek various inspirations based on what interests them and what they want to convey in their own images. By creating filters from various elements like gels, leaves, and other materials provided, they will explore the villa’s gardens and take turns being photographers and models. We will later select their favorite photos to be presented at the final exhibition, where the photographers will explain and analyze each other’s work. I hope to uncover in them a critical and creative spirit that will make them great artists.

Born in Nice, photographer Christopher Barraja first explored architecture in Marseille. After a stroke at the age of 19, he developed his passion for photography. Graduated from the Decorative Arts of Paris in 2020 with his project “De Chlore et de Rosé,” he was a finalist at the Hyères festival in 2022, and won the Grand Prix Picto de la Photographie de Mode for the same series. Attached to his Mediterranean roots, he often returns to Nice to capture the reverse side of the postcard of his hometown, in photographs embodying the alliance between the beautiful and the strange, a fusion he particularly cherishes.

ARCHITECTURE WORKSHOP with Cookies, Clément Périssé

Guest Architect
Ages 13-16, 9:30 AM - 12:30 PM

This workshop invites participants to imagine and build a city of tomorrow. Designed as a large three-dimensional structure, this city will consist of a set of cells forming a colorful three-dimensional composition. In an era of ’extraterrestrial’ utopias, we propose to construct a common imagination on Earth, revealing its qualities and accepting its fragility. Powered by wind energy, the city will take off at the end of the workshop…

DESIGN WORKSHOP with ANAIS HERVE and ARTHUR RISTOR

Ages 8-12, 9:30 AM - 12:30 PM
Awarded the Visual Merchandising Prize by Chanel and the Children’s Prize at the Design Parade Toulon 2023

For this workshop, we invite children to dive into the fantastic and colorful world of the circus and to imagine and create the big top and its starry ring, the juggling lounge, the hula hoop pillars, and the knock-down windows! Many small accessories related to juggling and balance can be imagined and kept by the children as souvenirs of this encounter. We will also learn some pirouettes and small juggling exercises!

Arthur Ristor is an artist and designer. He uses the Tiffany stained glass technique to create sculptural objects, blending classic furniture pieces and artifacts from a fictional world. Anaïs Hervé is an artist and textile designer. She primarily works with bead embroidery and needlepoint tapestry, creating multifaceted images with noisy materials. Both are graduates of the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs de Paris since 2019 and presented the Palais de Sable at the Design Parade Toulon in 2023.

ACROBATICS with WONSEMBE

Ages 10-16, 9:30 AM - 12:00 PM
Guest Artists

The workshops offered by Wonsembe promote overall personal development (balance, acrobatics, spatial awareness). Technique and creativity are put at the service of artistic expression, providing a space for everyone to thrive. Through circus arts, participants gain confidence and develop their individual expression within the group.

Wonsembe is a group of six acrobats who have made the street their place of exchange, sharing, and expression. They are acrobats, bases, flyers, and enthusiasts of Parkour and Tricking. By blending African circus with urban sports, they reclaim the street; the urban and architectural space becomes their training and expression ground. They create a genuine will to live together, a nation within the nation, driven by values of trust, courage, and the desire to succeed. After achieving 2nd place on “La France a un incroyable talent” in 2020, the group performs on numerous TV shows in Italy, Romania, Switzerland, and for the shows “America’s Got Talent,” “Arabs Got Talent,” and “Georgia’s Got Talent.” They perform at many events, notably at the Villa Noailles.
