Adrien Michel, Lauréat du Prix le19M des Métiers d’art 2025

Developed in collaboration with Studio MTX, Maison d’art resident at le19M,an art studio dedicated to design and interior design within Atelier Montex, this new project by the artist continues his exploration of the relationships between design, clothing, and objects. Drawing inspiration from Mart Stam’s modernist chair, he explores the principle of suspension as a structural language linking furniture and clothing. Using metal tubing and cantilevered furniture, he deconstructs the chair’s elements to transform them into fashion pieces and functional accessories, bringing clothing and design objects into coexistence.
Inspired by the spatial embroidery of Studio MTX, Adrien Michel develops a hybrid wardrobe where clothing becomes a structural support, and where the design object acquires an almost corporeal dimension that questions the boundary between function, ornament, and the architecture of the body.

Adrien Michel (b. 1997, France) is a designer and artist who graduated from La Cambre in Brussels. His work draws inspiration from subjects, objects, or gestures that fuel his curiosity and perspective, turning each project into a new realm of exploration. Winner of the le19M Métiers d’art Prize in 2025, awarded by Chanel at the Hyères International Festival in 2025, his work has been exhibited at villa Noailles and as part of the Umami collective project in Brussels. Through his collaborations with artisans, manufacturers, and cultural institutions, he pursues an open-ended exploration guided by experimentation, the transmission of craftsmanship, and the convergence of disciplines.
