Through this project, which serves both as a tribute to and an exploration of the Art Nouveau movement, I bring together two aspects of my practice: cabinetmaking and the creation of fashion accessories. In collaboration with Goossens, I designed a wooden corset from which organic metal curves unfold across the body. The 19M art house crafts the pieces from forms molded in wax. Their design and the choice of wood species are inspired by research conducted at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, akin to a deconstruction of their furniture collection, resulting in a free and contemporary reinterpretation of the style.

Amaury Darras, born in 1997, is a French visual artist, cabinetmaker, and designer based in Marseille. A graduate of the École Boulle, he has developed a practice situated at the intersection of art, craftsmanship, and design. Wood is at the heart of his practice, allowing him to create pieces conceived as bodily architectures. His alternative, deliberately anti-elitist interpretation of the history of contemporary art earned him the Grand Prix du Jury at the Hyères International Festival in the accessories category.
