Noémie Ninot, Lauréate du Grand Prix du jury de la Photographie 7L 2025
During pregnancy, the exchange of cells between mother and child is reciprocal: the fetus’s cells migrate to the mother’s organs and remain there for life. This phenomenon, known as cellular chimerism, inspired this project, which explores the connections between three generations of women. The images, taken at the artist’s grandmother’s home in the Netherlands, reenact their daily lives through hyperrealistic masks molded over their faces that they exchange: the daughter becomes the mother, the mother becomes the grandmother, and so on. Inspired by Dutch genre painting, these vignettes reveal an intergenerational transmission of the female condition, embedded in rituals and the repetition of gestures. The isolated and belated appearance of the grandfather prompts a reflection on the place of the masculine in this circulation of identities.
The series ‘22 Loggestraat, Zaandam’ is the third publication in the 7L Photography Jury Grand Prize Collection. Limited edition of 700 copies, accompanied by a photographic print signed by the artist.

Born in 1999, Noémie Ninot is a visual artist who lives and works in Paris. A graduate of the École Duperré and, in 2025, the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs, she won the 7L Photography Jury Grand Prize at the Hyères International Festival that same year. Her work, which blends photography, sculpture, and installation, explores social and intergenerational mimicry through questions of gender.
