Children’s Workshops

Workshops for ages 6–10
Registration required per session
Duration: 1h30
Paid activity

Monotype Workshop – in the style of Hugo Capron, led by a cultural mediator.
This workshop draws inspiration from the universe of artist Hugo Capron, particularly his mural Crackling Trail created on the stairways of Villa Noailles.
Monotype is a printmaking technique that produces a single unique image, blending drawing, painting, and print. Starting from a colored background applied to a plate (glass, metal, or plexiglass), children experiment with different ways of printing: imprints, direct drawings, overlays…
Each session begins with a short free drawing period, followed by a demonstration by the workshop facilitators. The children then create several prints based on a common theme — fireworks — with variations depending on age and creativity (layering, stickers, subtractive black, etc.).

Come and learn about monotype printing with a cultural mediator!
This is a printmaking technique that does not involve engraving and allows you to create a unique image, somewhere between drawing, painting and printmaking. Starting with a coloured background applied to a plate (glass, metal or Plexiglas), experiment with different ways of printing: imprints, direct drawings, overlays, etc.
Each session begins with free drawing time, followed by a demonstration of the technique. You can then make several prints based on a common theme, fireworks, with possible variations depending on age and preference (working in layers, stickers, subtracting black, etc.).
This workshop is inspired by the world of artist Hugo Capron, and in particular his Crackling Trail fresco on the stairs of the Villa Noailles, depicting a series of fireworks.

What if your favourite objects could become a bag or a unique accessory? In this workshop, you’ll learn—while having fun—the techniques used by fashion designers. Adrien Michel offers a simple introduction to the basics of pattern-making, showing you how to turn an everyday object into a textile accessory.
The aim is for each participant to create their own bag, or another accessory, according to their imagination.

Adrien Michel is a 28-year-old fashion designer. He grew up far from the world of fashion, in the heart of the Vosges mountains. However, he became interested in fashion at an early age, particularly Belgian fashion of the 1990s. He studied at the École nationale supérieure des arts visuels de La Cambre, graduating in 2024. After several internships with prestigious Parisian couture houses, he took part in the fashion competition of the 40th festival at Villa Noailles, where he won the le19M Métiers d’Art Prize thanks to his collection Outdoor Encounters and his bags created in collaboration with the leatherworking workshops of Verneuil-en-Halatte.

“Word & Image”
In line with the photographer’s work, this workshop invites participants to choose a word and create their own visual translation of it.
The idea is to explore what the chosen word evokes — a memory, an emotion, an atmosphere — and to observe and express this through photography.
In the workshop, participants learn how to compose a photographic series in a studio setting, playing with colour, light and framing, while exploring different types of images (portrait, still life, details, wide shots).

Guided by the photographer, come and give shape to your imagination and explore the connection between words and images!

Yama Ndiaye is a young French-Senegalese photographer, born in Paris. Immersed in an artistic environment from childhood thanks to her painter father and visual-artist mother, she developed an early interest in visual creation and a particular sensitivity to colour and light. A graduate of Gobelins School in 2023, she won the Picto Fashion Photography Grand Prize in 2024, as well as the Public Prize of the City of Hyères at the 40th Villa Noailles festival. She now focuses on personal projects at the crossroads of fashion and documentary photography, exploring themes such as identity, family and memory.
