On Air
In this Mediterranean cradle, where the sun infinitely caresses the sea, a room awakens, a haven woven of notes inspired by the legends of these lands bathed in light and by the Rolling Stones’ legendary visit to Villa Nellcote in Villefranche. This project transcends time, creating an enchanting canvas of sound that captures the magic of the Côte d’Azur.
At the heart of this musical paradise sits a totem pole, silent guardian of ancient melodies, exuding light, wind and sound, weaving links with the mystical, recalling the darkness where the Rolling Stones gave life to the emblematic Exile On Main Street. From this totem box emerges a floral composition that looks like a punk hairstyle. Fragments of crushed brick lie humbly at the foot of the structure, from which fossilised guitars emerge, ready to resurrect musical treasures buried in time.
In the centre, a lithophone, a mineral reliquary of the Mediterranean, caresses stones rocked by the waves. On this very structure, fashioned from bamboo tinted with the shadow of the cosmos, an organic silhouette takes shape, like a being walking towards the light. It’s a visual symphony of a connection between earth and sky, where the essence of the Mediterranean comes alive, vibrating to the rhythm of an animal presence moving towards radiance.
Shooting star cymbals capture and reflect the light, creating dancing bursts of magic. The olive-green walls become a visual score, a graphic symphony where the whispers of the past and the notes of the present resonate in timeless harmony.
Like a sanctuary, this space is a music studio in full metamorphosis, in union with the rugged Mediterranean landscape. The various instruments in the room, born of the raw materials of this coastline and gleaned objects, are waiting to be played. This is a performance in which these objects are brought together in a quest for tonal reciprocity in the eternal echo of the Mediterranean.
