le19M presents : Marc-Antoine Biehler et Amaury Graveleine x Lesage Intérieurs, La Chambre 100
To mark the centenary of Maison Lesage in 2024, le19M presents this unique installation designed in collaboration with Lesage Intérieurs.
La Chambre 100 weaves together the different skills of the Maison Lesage: fashion and furnishing embroidery and weaving. While evoking the villa Noailles, India, Provence and the Métiers d’art, this immersive installation takes visitors on a tour of a partially embroidered hotel room, inspired by Indian guest houses. It’s an invitation to discover and marvel at the meticulous details that punctuate the interior design.
The selection of furniture is a subtle blend of contemporary elements and a few vintage pieces, creating a dialogue between the design of objects from India and France. Embroidered elements such as the sofa, seen as a nod to the charpoi, the fans and the headboard occupy the space in a significant way, while other more discreet elements divert the codes of the hotel industry and bring a touch of humour to the installation.
The rigid appearance of metal meets more sensitive materials such as embroidered fabrics, tweed, ceramics and other more surprising materials such as coloured resin or basil wood beads. The scenographic designers create a coherent environment that is both surprising and inspiring, allowing visitors to project themselves into their own interiors using embroidery.
